It’s time we tell our story, the way we want to tell it. From the Nations First People, through the eyes of our Ancestors. It’s time We tell the truth, so we the people, may live a long life.-Mitakuye Oyasin
The money raised from this campaign will go to covering the initial costs of the Lakota Dream Project, providing an opportunity for meaningful collective action during a period when sacred sites, lands and territories of Indigenous peoples are under continued threat. The Lakota Dream Project will serve as a model for addressing the multi-generational impacts of the destruction and theft of these artifacts by ensuring that they are properly preserved in a state of the art museum, not as artifacts of history, but as part of the living heritage of Indigenous peoples.
This project is about remembering our ancestors not as victims of history, but as heroes that enabled our surviaval against all odds. Giving us the opportunity to restore ourselves.- Black eyed peas
